According to a latest report from market-research firmMintel and Leatherhead Food Research company, the sweetener stevia sugar planthas won the favor of consumers, and is upending the mature traditionalsweeteners in the order of the market.

In 2009, to push out the use of high intensity sweetenersin food and beverage products to the market , only 5% used alone completelyplant-based sweeteners (another 2% use mixture composed of artificialsweeteners and plant-based sweetener). by contrast, by 2013, the market shareaccounted for the plant sweeteners jumped to 15%, (while 3% use mixturecomposed of artificial sweeteners and plant-based sweetener).In North America,from 2011 to 2011, plant-based sweeteners are introduced products accounted for28% of the market.

Food science, an analyst at Mintel company Laura Jonessaid that the growth of the sweetener markets around the world,will benefitfrom increasing consumer awareness of sugar intake mostly, and more plant-basedsweetener developed is expected to benefit the market.Jones said the sugargradually be replaced, and demand for sweetener type food and beverage risingphenomenon showed that high intensity sweetener is facing good opportunitiesfor business, high-intensity sweetener provides a source of sweetness, but doesnot like sugar with high quantity of heat, this are more and more attractivefor those who are trying to control their weight consumers .Evidence, asconsumers of "healthier" sweetener solution increased demand, thehigh intensity sweeteners markets around the world have reacted to this trend,and this reaction is increasingly obvious.

By the end of 2013, as a kind of additive used in foodand beverage products production , the scale of the high intensity sweetenersmarkets around the world are expected to hit $1.27 billion, compared with 2012,that number increased by 2.8%.By 2017, the scale of the high intensitysweeteners markets around the world is expected to increase to nearly $1.4billion, 9.7% higher than that of the level of 2013.
